I grew up playing the sax so LeRoi really was intially what got me listen to DMB back in 1996. My last DMB concert was the Gorge, just after his passing... It was an amazing experience. I don't think anyone was really sure that the concert would happen. It was their first after the LA concerts. The outpouring of love from the souls there was just overwhelming. The "rain" of glowing bracelets/necklaces from above was a sight to behold. I always thought the band stopped for a moment of silence... and instead the crowd couldn't hold back their love... This past year I chose to not go.... I h…I have not seen the band play…

I have not seen the Band since LeRoi took his music to Heaven, but now that they are coming to my state this year I will have to go and face the fact that he will not be there on stage. At the first concert I attended, I was blown away by his genius and sometimes just mesmerized. The Band helped me celebrate my 50th birthday in Chicago with friends and strangers, and it was definitely the best birthday of my life.
