Leroi, your music changed the way I felt about music. I believed that only rap existed and i was addicted to those beats, but when I was introduced to DMB my freshman year of high school, the sax addicted me to the music. It was a new sound, and it…

My last DMB concert was the Gorge, just after his passing... It was an amazing experience. I don't think anyone was really sure that the concert would happen. It was their first after the LA concerts. The outpouring of love from the souls there was…
I have not seen the band play since LeRoi passed. I am anxiously awaiting the Gorge this September. I know LeRoi loved to play there and what a better place for me to honor his spirit.
I have not seen the Band since LeRoi took his music to Heaven, but now that they are coming to my state this year I will have to go and face the fact that he will not be there on stage. At the first concert I attended, I was blown away by his genius…

Today, I had the pleasure of showing LeRoi's tribute video with #34 playing to my 6th and 8th grade music classes. To celebrate black history month in my music class, I have chosen African-American musicians who have made contributions to the music world. I am proud to share the photos and memories of a musician who has had such an impact on so many lives, including mine. A big THANK YOU also to the members of DMB for their continued influence on my life and the musical mark that LeRoi has left for all of us to enjoy in years to come.
