IT WAS HOT AS HELL IN DC, DURING THE DMB CONCERT. HOT DAMN! CARTER WAS GREAT!!! WHAT(S) NEW, RIGHT?
I'LL SEE YOU GUYS IN HOUSTON....THEN, LATER IN CHICAGO. HATE MISSING THE GORGE...BUT, MAYBE IN 2012.
HEY FRIEND,
I'M HEADING TO THE CONCERT TOMORROW @ THE NATIONALS PARK (DC). SITTING HERE LISTENING TO THE STUDIO VERSION OF "BEST OF WHAT(S) AROUND." LEROI IS THE KING....THE KING.!!!
HE(S) THE KING OF SUDTLETY WITH HIS PLAYING. NO NEED TO SHOWBOAT…
Hi all, well...I just want to tell the world that i really dont understand why the grestest people are taken in the prime of their lives. I've been a long-time fan of the DMB and LOVE the awesome music AND energy I see them play with. Its fantastic…
really miss him, his sound, his light presence on stage. he could (always make me) shed some tears with his tender sound while at the same time he could play so powerful and loud.
im very happy to have seen him play quite a bit.
I have the same CD (one of my favorite ones). I'm going to the concert in DC as well.....It just won't be the same w/out Leroi. Missing his magic so much!
I never got the chance to see him live, and that makes me very sad. He was a fantastic musician. I do love Jeff too. Two of the best saxophonists ever.
Just went to the concert at Hershey Park, Hershey PA on Friday nite, July 9, and it was outstanding, as usual,
Jeff did a great job, but it was not the same as the other concerts with Roi. I am still a genuine fan, but also can
tell that a huge void…
SITTING HERE VIEWING THE CENTRAL PARK CONCERT (DISK 1) AND LISTENING TO THE STUDIO VERSION OF PROUDEST MONKEY. JUST RELAXING TO THE SOUNDS OF THE DMB.
I'M HEADING TO THE CONCERTS IN CHICAGO, HOUSTON AND DC (WHERE I LIVE). STILL MISSING LEROI AND HI…
What a great place! There are so many times that I have wanteed to sit a remember Roi, and now I have found a great place to do that. I can't wait for the band to come to Texas this year. It has been different without Roi but there is no better plac…
I agree with all of you. Jeff is great, but it's just not the same. I particuarly loved LeRoi during the 96-2000 tours. I recently discovered Antsmarching.org. You can ACTUALLY download really good bootlegs. I have 100's of shows from day 1 to prese…
Vicky - I feel exactly the same way. Since his passing, I go into the shows thinking of DMB as a different band. It's just a head game I play so I don't end up too sad and can still enjoy the show as much as ever.
LeRoi will always be missed.
I've been a fan of DMB since 1994 when Under the Table and Dreaming first came out. LeRoi's saxophone playing was what inspired me to play music myself although I ended up picking up the guitar. I had never felt personally saddened by the death of a…
Today, I had the pleasure of showing LeRoi's tribute video with #34 playing to my 6th and 8th grade music classes. To celebrate black history month in my music class, I have chosen African-American musicians who have made contributions to the music world. I am proud to share the photos and memories of a musician who has had such an impact on so many lives, including mine. A big THANK YOU also to the members of DMB for their continued influence on my life and the musical mark that LeRoi has left for all of us to enjoy in years to come.
